Solidarity for Fashion voted best practice by Eurodesk
In December 2022, Solidarity for Fashion was chosen as a best practice in youth participation and activation by Eurodesk, a European youth information network. Eurodesk’s goal is to empower youth to seek and claim opportunities in Europe and to help them become active citizens. Therefore, with the help of ERYICA, they created the guide “Youth Participation in Youth Information Services” to help youth workers engage young people and to provide practical tools for youth work.
Solidarity for fashion was one of the five best practices selected for this guide. The organization stood out for involving youth as peer educators and for its innovative way of thinking. The team addressed the problem fast fashion creates on humans and the environment by organizing round-table facilitations with stakeholders from the slow fashion industry, as well as created the Mind your Local Business event. In this event, participants went treasure hunting in Athens for local businesses with a sustainable character and got a chance to get to know the owners behind the businesses.
This recognition highlights the hard work and passion that the team pours in the organization. It is an opportunity for Solidarity for Fashion to keep striving for raising awareness and creating unique events that promote a more sustainable way of living.
